Vision Based Navigation System

Vision Based Navigation System

In recent years, unmanned vehicles have attracted much attention due to their wide range of applications. In most cases, the navigation systems of these vehicles rely on GPS. However, there are many applications that require operation in environments without GPS. For example, special missions or operations in complex urban environments. We design a vision-based navigation algorithm that uses the processed images from a monocular camera instead of GPS.

The Main Purpose of This Project

The main purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth analysis of tracking algorithms tested in specific applications such as vision based navigation systems. Therefore, the first step is to create an accurate data set using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The data is then extracted and analyzed using monocular cameras and image processing techniques, and navigation can be performed visually.
